With the option "On the fly" it is possible to decrease the calibration time drastically and increase the sampling rate multiple. An electronic, assembled in the LaserTRACER, is getting data from the machine controller and is combining it with the interferometric measurements. This enables to measure the machine motion with highest accuracy continuously! Compared to static measurements it is possible to reduce the measuring time e.g. from two to one hour. Although a sampling rate up to three points per millimetre is possible. In this way the analysis also of very short-wave deviations is possible. The easy use of the system didn't change in principle: a time consuming precise alignment of the LaserTRACER and the reflector is not necessary. The accuracy is unprecedented high thanks to the used and patented principles.

In the measuring machine branch this extension of the Etalon calibration method is already established with great success. CMMs from Carl Zeiss are using "On the fly" since some time successfully. On the Control show Etalon will also present the application for machine tools.
